Our Dentists

Bay Area House Call Dentists have been providing expert, compassionate dental care to special needs patients in their homes or residence facilities since 2004. We are dedicated to bringing dental services to all who need it across San Francisco and Marin County. We help our patients and their caregivers overcome issues including significant transportation difficulties, physical incapacity, emotional challenges, medical complications and other special needs. Our on call dentists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure that everyone has access to the dental care they need.

Dr. Erica Haskett Dr. Erica Haskett, DDS
Director of House Call Services
Dr. Erica Haskett received her doctor of dental surgery degree from New York University. Originally from the Central Valley, Dr. Haskett attended University of California, Irvine and majored in biological sciences. She completed her post-graduate training with a general practice residency in dentistry at Community Regional Medical Center of Fresno, California and the Veterans’ Administration, Fresno where she received extensive training to treat geriatric, disabled, and special needs patients. She joined Blende Dental Group where she leads a team in complex restorative care in the hospital and office settings for special needs patients.
David M. Blende, DDS David M. Blende, DDS
Dr. David Blende, a graduate of the University of Southern California, has more than 20 years experience providing comprehensive dental care in both hospitals and private practices alike. He’s practiced in Switzerland, Beverly Hills and San Francisco. Dr. Blende is the former Chairman of the California Dental Association’s Council on Scientific Affairs. As the head of Bay Area House Call Dentists, Dr. Blende focuses on complex dental rehabilitation cases utilizing I.V. sedation or general anesthesia in hospital settings. Dr. Blende is the Chief of the Division of Dentistry at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco hospital, and is Chief of the Dental Division at California Pacific Medical Center Hospital.
Cheryl E. Elacio, DMD Cheryl E. Elacio, DMD
Dr. Cheryl Elacio is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. She then went on to complete a general practice residency at Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut, receiving advanced training in the treatment of special needs and medically compromised patients. Dr. Elacio has a passion for bringing dental care to people who have challenges gaining access to such care. She is also dedicated to educating caregivers about the importance of oral health. Dr. Elacio is also our Director of Geriatric Services, and works closely with Assisted Living communities around the San Francisco Bay area to provide dental screenings and on-site dental services.
Dr. Michael Lam, M.D. Dr. Michael Lam, M.D.
Dr. Lam is a board certified physician anesthesiologist with over 30 years of experience in a wide variety of practice settings. He attended Occidental College in Los Angeles graduating with a degree in chemistry, received his medical degree from Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana, and completed his medical specialty training in anesthesiology at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto. Dr. Lam’s experience includes the delivery of anesthetic care for all major surgical subspecialties including cardiac, neuro, high-risk obstetrical, pediatric, spinal cord, burn, major orthopedic and multiple trauma surgery.
